Polytetraflouroethylene (TFE) and Kynar - PVDF are both on allocation.
Teflon product PTFE (TFE) and Kynar-PVDF manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar that's mined in Mongolia and China. The worldwide requirement for this mineral has risen significantly, as well as the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high temperature resistance, excellent chemical resistance and extremely low co-efficient of friction (slippery) and is used in tons of purposes from non-stick fry kitchenware to ptfe tape for use at home. This particular mineral is the critical raw material inside the manufacturing of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and lots of refrigerants. This rise in demand coupled with general shortage of raw materials is mainly responsible for a dramatic price increase (almost double over the last year), shortages, and we expect these two factors to continue in the near future.
